HOPE Program is a distinguished forensic mental health clinic specializing in the rehabilitation of individuals who have encountered the legal system due to sexual offenses. Certified by the California Sex Offender Management Board (CASOMB), we employ cutting-edge research to provide services that mitigate the risk of reoffending while enhancing public safety.

HOPE Program tailors its services to a diverse clientele, including adult male and female offenders, developmentally delayed individuals, mentally disordered offenders, sexually abusive adolescents, and a Chaperone Training Program.

Assessment Specialist requires specialized knowledge encompassing the full spectrum of psychological services, including evaluation, treatment planning, and report writing. Proficiency in various assessment techniques (e.g., mental status exams, personality testing, actuarial assessments) is crucial for success in this role.

The program’s Assessment Specialist fulfills a role and is responsible for the following:

Conducting comprehensive clinical and psychosocial assessments (e.g., CITPs, Interims) for clients of all types, revising and updating previous assessments, and formulating initial treatment plans for clients entering, undergoing, or transitioning between programs.
Employing pertinent clinical skills, such as administering assessment tools, conducting interviews, collecting sensitive information, performing diagnostic interviews, maintaining rapport, composing assessment reports following protocols, and communicating with relevant stakeholders (e.g., Feds, CDCR, SD Probation, CONREP, etc.).
Utilizing assessment findings to guide client referrals to appropriate in-house services.
Timely completion of admission and program-related documentation, including administrative tasks associated with facilitating client entry into treatment.
Establishing and nurturing productive relationships with community agencies that can positively impact clients' community reintegration opportunities.
Active participation in agency clinical meetings, team gatherings, staff meetings, and in-service training initiatives.
Completion of other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Psychology or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
Licensure with BBS or BOP (Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology).
